I'm a novice to horizontal bows, and would like some advice on fieldpoints for the bolts. I just went thru all 11 pages, and still have an unanswered question. I have a Revolution (yeah, I know ). But I bought it cheap (<$200.00) and thought that it would do for a first X-bow. I did have some problems with it, and sent it back to Barnett. They swapped out the whole bow and stock, so I now have a brand new one. ;D I'm shooting Beman ThunderBolts with 2" Blazers. The bolts weigh 420 gr. with a 100 gr. fieldpoint. I have a cheap Wal-Mart foam target (which will be upgraded asap as soon as I can find where to purchase the Crossbow King here in the States). I'm burying the bolts up to within 3" of the vanes @ 20 Yds, and within 4-5" of the vanes all the way out to 40 Yds. The bolts seem to stick in the target, and I have a heck of a time getting them out even with an arrow puller. I tried to shoot the fieldpoints in the broadhead side (less penetration = easier removal, right?) and thought I would have to cut the target apart to get the bolt out...... What fieldpoints do you recommend? Thanks, esshup

Probably nothing wrong with the field points that you are using.
You are probably shooting into a broadhead only target?
The Crossbow King is a broadhead only target too.
You can not pull a target point out of it.
You would be MUCH better off buying a bag target for field points. They last forever and are two finger arrow removal.
Click on the American Whitetail banner at the bottom of the page and that will ake you to the American Whitetail site.
They have a bag target called 300 fps. They do sell direct or can tell you where the closest stor e to you is at.
Good luck and WELCOME to Hunting Indiana.

Thanks Woody. The foam target has 2 sides for broadheads and 2 for fieldpoints. But, a new target will be ordered tomorrow (or maybe tonite if I can order on-line).
The bow also came with a pack of HyperShock broadheads, along with 6 Beman Thunderbolts. I hope to try the broadheads on a deer yet this season. They fly just the same as the fieldpoints with the blazers out to 40 Yds. But, if the deer isn't within 30 Yds (20 would be better), I will be just a watcher, not a shooter.

You can use just a little Armor All or rub the tip of te arrow on a bar of soap to make it easier to remove from the target. .

I see those points in Cabelas that have a ring of plastic behind the tip to aid in removal, and I believe that the tip is a slightly larger dia than the shaft, I was wondering about those, but the bag seems like it will work just fine.
I don't have to practice with the broadheads too much, just check them to see if they fly the same as the fieldpoints. I suppose I can still use the old target for those. Or.... How easy is the removal of mechanicals from the Crossbow King?

Get a bag from Wal-mart.They work fine and are cheap.I think the bolts go into foam targets so fast they weld themselves to it.I know I tried one first.

Too late! I ordered the bag from Americal Whitetail yesterday. They said that it should ship this week. Thanks tho! I think I was more exhausted pulling the bolts from the target than from cocking the bow.

I learned the hard way ... get a bag target that you can get replacement covers for (Morrell is the one I'm getting next time)
