Greetings
After a year off the bow, which i have missed, i am back at it slowly trying to build my back muscles up again. i try to shoot a few arrows a day and i cant beleive i am hitting the mark , or very near the mark already. Certainly a deer or turkey would be in big trouble, lol The bow i am using is an old hoyt sixty pound bow which i have turned down to fifty, it is the most difficult of the two bows i have to shoot with so i practise with that one. All good fun. Regards Billy.

They sure stiffen up in the closet or hanging on the wall, don't they! I'm just sitting down from drawing mine a couple more times. Had to crank it down to 42# to get started this year, after just letting mine hand in the garage about two months since shooting it at 49#. Got tired of waiting for good weather to shoot it out at the range, and decided to draw and aim and let down inside to get the old shoulder back in shape for the summer. Settling the pin on a tiny spot on the wall and holding a few seconds before letting down carefully, and keeping my mind on what I'm doing so I don't dry-fire the release.
I'd still trust mine to be lethal even at 40#, with careful shot selection and limited range, but if I can build back up to 55#, I'll feel a lot better about it.
The Golden Years, eh.
