I've been hunting this one area pretty regular since the season opened in Tennessee on the 23'rd of Sept. I've seen a really good buck on two different trips. Last Saturday, I found where this old boy has started shredding trees. All down this bench on the side of the mountain. Tons of acorns and plenty of sign everywhere. I plan on being in my tree no later than 6 am tomorrow morning. To me there ain't nothing better than being in the woods when the creatures all start waking up to a new day. The way the light shines with a newness greeting another day that God has given us. As I sit and watch the world wake up, away from all the everyday stress and pressure that we place on ourselves,It seems to flow out of my mind , body and soul. My mind is sharper, I'm using senses that I don't really use daily. I listen to what is being said to my heart. I feel a serenity that will last, although subtly fading until it is time to return to the woods to again find the focus that guides us all as sportsmen. The taking of an animal is secondary and not at all necessary for me to contimue to "hunt". Everyone be safe and have a great season.

WOW-Extremely well said. You have a hunters heart for sure, and good luck sticking that stud.

An awesome post! IF only some non-hunters could read and at least try to understand, they'd then "get it", very well said , and I hope you have the very best season so far, and many , many more even better to come!
Thank you for that post, it says exactly how so many of us actually feel!
