Just thought I would share a succesful crossbow hunt with everyone. This is only the second deer I've ever taken with a crossbow. We've been watching this old doe for the last two seasons. She walks with a noticible limp and her back left leg is all mangled up. I figured at some point she may have hung it in a fence or possibly hit by a car. It seemed like this season she had really gone down and was walking with more trouble than normal. I watched her for a few minutes real close and decided I could take her or let the coyotes get her. So..... about 20 yds and a steep quartering away ...I figured some backstrap wouldnt be bad. The entrance was just behind her last rib on the left side and exited out the bottom of the opposite shoulder...and through her leg ...if you notice on the pic you can see what I'm describing. She went about 80 yds and piled up.... and of course...the way I did not want her to go. We've got some steep ridges on our place and thats where she ended up. So... got her drug out with the 4-wheeler and snatched the hide , quartered and in the cooler she went. Now it's time to get serious about some horns. I wish everone the best of luck this season.

Nice going! Last weekend while coming home from bowfishing I saw a newly harvested field of corn just north of my bowfishing site. As I was driving by I glanced over and saw at least 30 deer and hundreds of geese in that field. Too bad I couldn't harvest any of them.
