Have any of you ever hunted small game with your x-bow? If you do, what kind of arrow head do you use? A friend of mine used a 100 gr. shocker on a ferrel cat and the shocking part was it shot plumb through, like it wasn't even there. Anyone know of a head that wont pass through small critters?

I started out using rubber blunts on rabbits but after a couple of hits with nonlethal results I switched to judo points. They are very effective and I have never had a pass through. In addition, if you miss, the hooks on the judo points dig into the ground, preventing the arrows from traveling too far. Here are a couple of pics of a rabbit I shot with my Vixen Lite (115 lb limbs) using a judo point tipped arrow. The judo point eviscerated the rabbit.

Maybe my buddy has to heavy of a bow. Or maybe the shockers are different than the judo points. Anyway that's one dead rabbit for sure.

More power is not always a good thing, especially when shooting relatively small critters like rabbits, squirrels, and fish. The problem with a crossbow is that you have to shoot it at full draw, you cannot do partial draw snap shooting like you can with a stick bow. This causes a problem if you are shooting something like a gar, buffalo, or common carp one minute (with big, very tough scales and a heavy skeleton requiring lots of power to penetrate so it doesn't pull off) and a bighead or silver carp the next (with small, fragile scales and a relatively light skeleton easily resulting in a passthrough).

I won't be using a blunt on mine anytime soon, but I can hardly wait for the Fall Turkey season this year. Anybody out here use a C-Bow for Turkeys?

I won't be using a blunt on mine anytime soon, but I can hardly wait for the Fall Turkey season this year. Anybody out here use a C-Bow for Turkeys? Woodmaster and myself both killed Spring turkeys this last Spring with my TenPoint QX4.
Here is Woodmaster's gobbler..Lot more challenge than taking them down with the 12 guage.
I was going to try and take one last fall, but the turkeys had a different idea.
