It seems that every sports channel was promoting the Conor n Cowboy fight which was last night. I don’t follow the sport, nor did I pay to watch the fight. I’m just curious if any of you are into this. I don’t know, maybe I’m missing something here?! Just curious as to what the appeal is?

I have watched it since the beginning when I was a kid. Back then I'd rent the VHS tapes from the video store. I've watched it ever since. I don't buy the PPV. You can usually find the fights online the next morning if you know how to look. I think boxing is boring. MMA can be too if you have 2 guys who just want to wrestle for the entire match. I like the exciting fast paced fights. I guess I like to see guys get nocked out. I've been watching some bare knuckle boxing videos lately. Those fights don't last long.
What I don't get is car racing. I don't see the fascination in watching cars drive in a circle for hours. That puts me to sleep real quick. I'd rather watch golf. But to each their own. Everyone has their own interests and the right to watch whatever sport they find entertaining.

154lb welterweight title bout was free on fox last night. Rosario took out the champ Williams, very entertaining! Think it went 5 rounds. Predicted about a minute on McGregor, not worth buying or watching.

I once met Dan "The Beast" Severn at Southtown mall in Fort Wayne. But yeah sometimes I watch it.

Stand near the fence about 50' past the tree during Top Fuel for a run, then walk down as far towards the finish line as you can get for another. Bring earplugs. No left turns except at the end of the race. If there ARE any turns during the race they are unplanned.

I was a huge fan up until a couple of years ago. Not so much anymore, but was hoping Cowboy would have performed a little better than he did. I knew Conner would win but not quite as fast as he did. Here is the first-ever UFC fight, UFC 1. It was brutal with only a couple rules. The first two matches had fighters going to the hospital. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6N1axku8QA

Back in the day I used to get all the Mike Tyson fights (even though many of them didn't last very long) and I thought his fights were tough to watch @ times.
I've watched UFC fights and just can't get into it. It's as brutal a sport as I've ever seen. It makes boxing look like a cake walk.

I used to watch pretty regularly, but haven't for quite a while. There aren't any fighters that I really follow closely anymore.
In terms of MMA vs. Boxing, I think MMA often looks more "violent" but boxers take a lot more shots to the head, which is worse in the long run for the athletes.

I could feel the engine compression in my chest. I like that much better than driving in circles.

Top Fuel is producing approximately 1,375 hp per cylinder in the 500 cu. in. engines. Both the Top Fuel and Funny Cars show up on the seismic sensors when they run at Pomona, Ca.

I have watched several MMA events over the years and I just can't seem to find any interest. I have a few close connections to the sport too and that hasn't even spiked my interest. My moms next door neighbor was an MMA fighter and I have a close friend who has partnered with Ken Shamrock to start Valor Bare Knuckle. They had their first events last fall and it was a huge success. However, even with the connections I have I just can't seem to get into it. I think it stems from the fact that I don't like fighting (verbal or physical) at all.

A couple laps on the hammer at Putnamville or Paragon and you will never think about another one of those 40 second fights again. Let alone a few laps a Terre Haute on the slick.

I'm sure you are right about that. Being involved in it sounds like a blast. Watching it from the stands or on TV doesn't do anything for me. I watched one race at the KY speedway.

As much as I enjoy Sprint Cars there is nothing that rocks my world like a TOP FUEL CAR WARM UP. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDCkf9P6RG0Crank your volume all the way up right at about the 50 second mark and hold on. That car goes from 0 horsepower to 8000 in the blink of an eye, watch the slicks if you can.

I guess I've been around enough of them that most of the time the nitro/alcohol doesn't chase me out of the pits. Friends that I bring? They are crying and running away.
