Petersen's Crossbow Hunting is on the newstand.
I saw it at my local supermarket.
Looks pretty good, but pricy at $6 USD.
Bill Trobridge's muskox article High Arctic Muskox Adventure was in there.
Two stories also in there by a good friend of mine - John Trout Jr. One on scents and one on his Idaho crossbow bear hunt last year. He hunted with an Exocet that we put together in my den and sighted in in my backyard.
In the scents article there were three pictures on page 34. One of John Trout III, one of my son and one of me. I'm the guy in the middle dressed in Predator camo putting lure on a boot pad. The one with my head cut off.. Guess my face was too much for the article.. LOL
I found it rather strange that Bowhunter TV Magazine (pictured with Dwight Schuh, editor) had a full page color ad in there and that ain't cheap. Bowhunter Magazine wont allow any crossbow ads in their magazine, but they advertise in a crossbow magazine?? Hmmm...
I've just glanced through it and will read it in depth tomorrow..
Anyone else see it?

Hey Woody:
You know that after the episode with the Editor of Peterson's over at Excal. I thought I wouldn't buy there Mags anymore, however there are few or less Crossbow Mags out there, and finding a good read on them is something I enjoy. I will probably get the mag. and see what happens from there. If they continue to mislead the public with ill-gotten terms or slang on Crossbows again then that will be it for me. I am giving them another chance and hoping they can drive straight from here on. They have a lot of readers of different hunting backgrounds and practices that they have to appease and I'm sure it is not an easy task keeping them all Happy. Thank's for telling me it's out, I will keep my eye open for it.
John

I thought long and hard about not buying it....at $6. I bought it to read Bill T's story and John had two articles in it.. Of course my son (Woodmaster) and my bottom half was pictured in it too. I did cancel my long time subscription to Petersen's Bowhunter as I feel the editor caved in. .

Anything by Bill T is worth 6 bucks. I'm gonna try to find a copy.

I picked one up today.
Pretty good read.
That muskox hunting is for tough guys with lots of insulation.
Is Bill Troubridge the owner of Excalibur crossbows?
