Very sad. I wish there was more information though. How the heck did both get shot? Shotgun? Was hunter orange worn? more curiosity than anything. Not an excuse, you HAVE TO be sure what you are shooting before pulling the trigger.

I read on Facebook somewhere where the dad and the little girl was dragging out a dead deer. The first shot killed the girl, the dad screamed and then he was shot. Not sure about that but the poster claimed to be a family member of the deceased. |

I've never been part of a deer drive but I don't know if that is a hunting situation I would want to have a child that small involved in. To me, shooting at moving targets isn't something they would be able to do and the chance of something like this happening would be higher than a stand or ground blind hunt.

I'm lost for words, but prayers are definitely needed for the family. I'm also curious about how this took place. It's a tragedy for sure, and though 2 people were killed, there are lessons to be learned from this. I'm interested in seeing what the DNR comes back with after the investigation.
I'm like esshup, was hunter orange being worn, and most importantly what was going through the shooters mind when he pulled the trigger, and then the dad screaming and he got shot as well. Really, I'm pretty sure the shooter had to hear the dad scream, especially in a situation like that.

With the news today just telling us what they want us to hear, or only telling half the story, OR having completely wrong information I doubt we will ever know the correct story. Seems like the news never does any follow up on the initial story. |

What I read says hunter orange is recommended, but not mandated on private property in South Carolina.
