I'm trying this instacart out for the first time. I have a hard time going shopping due to health reasons and thought I would give this a try. The first time they said that the delivery was free but I saw where they added a 5% tip for the delivery person on my bill. I could have changed this to no tip but didn't have the heart to do that.
I orderd this for Schnuck's Grocery Store on the West Side of Evansville, IN. I made a mistake when placing the order since my credit card address is where I own my house but I'm having the order delivered to my mothers house. I didn't know how to change the billing address after I was in my shopping cart and going though the proesses. I was almost ready to click on the "place order" button when I realized my mistake. Now I thought that Instacart was a Schnuck's Grocery Thing. I've use the online ordering and free pickup with Walmart's Grocery Store and I liked it. But I've not use their online order and delivery service yet.
I called Schnuck's store and asked the customer service guy who answered the phone how to fix the problem. He explained that they didn't know how and asked me to call the Instacart guys. I figured out that they are a separate company and not affiliated with Schnucks. I guess it's like all the other companies that will go get your order and delivery it to you from many stores and then you pay the Instacart guys or something. I'm not really sure who my credit card is paying the bill to. I'll figure that out when I go online and see who charged something to my credit card. I can do that online later on. But I found it sad that the Guy at Schnucks didn't know how to fix my problem. He told me to look on the online instacart for help. They don't have a phone number to call. Only a email to them for help. I chose not to email them since my oder is due in less than 2 hours. Yep, that fast.
I did find where I could add a new credit card on my instacart account and did that. But then I had two accounts and the only thing they showed was the two accounts listed with the same numbers. So I could not figure out which of the two numbers had my correct billing address. One had my delivery address as my billing adress and that was wrong. I finally was able to right click on one of the accounts and a pop up menu appeared with the abilty to delete the card number on that list. I ended up deleting both of the credit cards on the list and added a new card again with the correct billing address. Went back to my order and changed the payment method to use the new card with my correct billing address.
They need to make this much easier. I didn't have this much problem ordering online and having things billed to my home adress which is on my credit card companies information and then have the goods delivered to my mother house.
My mom has kidney cancer and she doesn't know it yet. I'm going to talk to the Dr. that did the CAT scan testing and found out why my mom is losing weight so much in the past six months. Mom's regular Dr. Iqbal at Deaconess Clinic in Evansville, IN didn't seemed to worry about my mom's excessive weight loss over the past year. Even though I attended mom's doctor visits every time in the last 4 years. I'm not happy with Dr. Iqbal. He won't listen to me. Mom has some early demensia and when Dr. Iqbal asked her questions in his office mom didn't answer him right. Mom has problems swallowing food. But when Dr. Iqbal asked if she had problem swalling food mom answered no. So he was getting the wrong impressions. But I told him while there that she was having problems with swalling food and he ignored me. That ed me off big time. So I called her GI Dr and asked him to take over. He had worked on mom's gall bladder removal and bile duct procedures a few years back when mom had her gal bladder removed due to gal stones. Dr. Lavu with Deaconess Hospital is a great doctor. He orderd a new series of CAT scans and found some of mom's problems. There are lesions or tumors on the bottom of one of mom's kidney that he presume are malignant and until they can find out more information he will just presume that they are cancerous. I'm going to call his office and talk to his nurse to find out more. Mom has an appointment (follow up) to see Dr. Lavu's Nurse Practictioner in Jan. But I don't want to wait that long to see what's going on. The sooner they can start treatments the better. I got the results through the MyChart account that I setup for my mother. Mom is 94 years old now. I'm trying to keep here healthy and alive. Lost my father in 2001 due to complications of diabeties. He was a diabetic for many years but took good care of himself until he had a stroke which left him paralyzed on the entire left side of his body. Mom took care of him like that for 8 years until he passed away due to a bacterial infection. Dad also has prostrate cancer which may have been the reason he die. He had blood in his urine and when we took him to Welborn Hospital they said that they could not help and shipped him back home to die. Dad died the night before Hospice was suppose to come the next day. My mom lost her older sister to pancreatic cancer a few years ago and then lost her younger brother a year ago. They were all in the late 80's or early 90's. Mom's oldest sister is still living in a nursing home now. Mom goes nut when I talk about her going to a nursing home. But mom is still able to get around on her own. She turned in her drivers license two years ago and I've been her driver ever since. I'm her only son so it's up to me to help her. I have no brothers or sister to share that burden.
Thus the reason why I'm ordering groceries for her and having them delivered. I have a bad back which is limiting my mobility these days. That plus I too have prostrate cancer and diabeties and a bad heart too.
