Well I thought I'd let you guys see the Newest target practice pic's with the Exmax. After tuning the bow to 20 yds. I went to my Hunting property to practice better range. Set the target at 30 yds. Using Gold Tip Laser 11 Bolts, 20 in. 4 in. Plastic Fletch, and Bolt Wraps 7 deg. offset Fletch Aluminium back nocks Brass front inserts 100 gr. Target Points. First set of pic's was Vari-zone scope dialed to 340 FPS. Second set of pictures are after setting Vari-zone to 330 FPS Note the "Tooney Coin" in the Bolt pattern on second pic. These shots were from me kneeling on the ground with my elbow supported by garbage can. Here is the Target at thirty yards. Very fun Toy indeed! ;D ;D john

Excellent shooting...
You need to be real careful shooting that many arrows at the same dot. You'll be ending up buying more arrows from Robin Hooding..

Thanks Woody:
For those who are wondering why I dialed them in at 330 FPS when the bow is rated for 350 + FPS, is because the rating is for 350 to 360 gr. bolts approx. I believe, and I'm shooting Custom bolts around 410 to 415 gr. Excellent K.E.

John,
That is enough KE to hunt elephants.
BTW - I understand that Bill and Kathi Troubridge of Excalibur are now headed to Africa hunt elephants and cape buffalo with their crossbows..
Wouldn't that be exciting?

Woody:
I'm sure it is enough to Hunt Elephants. But it's Not my game. As far as Cape Buffalo, Oh YAAA! I need the power and speed for straighter trajectory and stopping power on Bear and other Big Game. I found that with a Heavier Bolt and less speed the Bolt dropped to quickly on the 30 to 35 yd. shots. from twenty or so feet up a tree. With the extra speed from the Exmax and the Custom weight bolts the height and yardage are not a problem at all!

I think I'm gonna buy one of those targets tomorrow. My block just aint holding up to my bolts no more, I barry the fletching. If the Yellowhammer can stop a bolt from an Exomax before the fletching barries, then I need a Yellowhammer target

Hi ya'll: I got my block target pretty well tore up, and have found the McKenzie sold by Cabelas at the same price much better. It's orange, and works good for both field and hunting tips. I also just got a pair of Danny Millers arrow pulling pliers. They are great!! No more having to grab the fletch or pull nocks out.
