My brother is wanting to get back into archery, but unable to pull a compound due to several shoulder surgeries. I'm wanting to know who he should go about getting "ok'd" to shoot a cross bow.
Thanks, Lug

My brother is wanting to get back into archery, but unable to pull a compound due to several shoulder surgeries. I'm wanting to know who he should go about getting "ok'd" to shoot a cross bow. Thanks, Lug Been there, done that.. Have him contact the DNR Customer Service Center at (317) 233-4976. Ask for a handicapped permit form. He will then have to go to his doctor to get him to fill it out. Send it to the address on the form. A committee will look at it and make a decision on whether to issue a permit or not. Usually that is just a formality. They will then issue him a card that he will need to carry with him while he is hunting with a crossbow during early archery and/or firearm season. He will still have to purchase the necessary tags to hunt. Good luck to him and tell him for me - crossbowing and crossbow hunting is FUN!
