I shoot Rage mechanicals. I've replaced the stiff rubber o-ring with a dental brace rubber band. I switched when I had one do a pass thru with only 1 partial blade deployment. Was similar to a field tip wound. Since switching, I've never had one fail to fully open. Anyone else done similar switch? Anyone still use original band? My son uses the Rage Hypo's with collar and was thinking i should swap out his as well-Thoughts?

Had a Rage cut the hide but both blades just fell off/tore off once hitting rib cage. Once the arrow entered the lungs/ribs it was basically a field point. Deer went 150 yards but I did find her. Found arrow, the blades were gone. Never used rage again. Went to swackers.

I'm glad you at least recovered her. I did not find mine. Found arrow which determined fail to deploy. I do shoot the newer Rage w/hardened chisel tip instead of the solid aluminum ferrule body. I have shot 1 deer since changing bands and both deployed as they should and was recovered.

I shot Rage for one year and will never use Rage again. Had failure with blades opening on a buck quartering away. Rage blades are cheaply built and either don't open all the time and or break.. I went back to one's that has never failed me since 1987. Well built Muzzy's.

I had an issue with a 3 blade rage not opening so I switched to the 2 blade and haven't had an issue since. it might be worth switching to the collar also. It seems like they break off easier.

I missed a turkey with a 2 blade rage with the orange collar. The arrow hit the sandy loam in the field and the blades never opened, collar is intact. Why, I have no idea. Did sand get embedded in the blade track preventing it from opening? I removed the broadhead from the shaft and the blades are stuck in place. I haven't tried to replace them yet, but the cutting point blade is like a butter knife now.
