At first I was very resisitent to crossbows and crossbow hunting, but now, after reading this forum I may reconsider. My eyes are beginning to fail me, and the idea of a "scoped bow" seem mighty appealing. I MAY give one a try. If my buddies would forgive me.LOL

Crossbows are legal for all of the late season for anyone who wants to use them. That is for any deer, provided you have not killed a buck with another weapon. Crossbowing and crossbow hunting is FUN. Not a whole lot different than using a compound. I knwo, I've shot and hunted with recurves, compounds and crossbows. It is just another choice in an archery hunting tool.

Funny how you talk of going to Cross bow at a time when I'm thinking of going to Compound bow. I've gun hunted and Crossbow hunted for many years and now I think it's time to try a nice Compound Bow for a while. Wanted to do this for some time and I'd like to get a few good years of it before any health or eye problems catch up to me. I agree with Woody, Crossbow hunting is fun.

My eyes are beginning to fail me, and the idea of a "scoped bow" seem mighty appealing. The Cabela's catalog , among others , has scopes and red dot sights for compounds as well as crossbows . If you're not quite ready for a crossbow at the moment this may be an option to consider . Do what feels best for you .

Since I haven't taken my one buck so far this year I thought I would borrow my neighbors and give it try this late season.
Looks like fun.
