Looking forward to see the results..
The Indiana DNR conducted a survey this year that also included questions about crossbows. Those are being tabulated as we type..

This thing came down to having more options and free choice of weapon use, something Ky/ has always been a leader in and still maintain a pretty darn good deer herd and turkey population. Next year hunters can hunt with either one, and nobody will suffer any harm nor will the resource. Bottom line, crossbows have a future in all states as more and more states get in tine with modern deer management.
Edit...

Bottom line, crossbows have a future in all states as more and more states get in tine with modern deer management. In fact, on that note, one would wonder why an antique like JB would be against this wonderful management tool??? Glad to hear that y'all are finally getting that issue resolved , and I firmly agree that's it's a win-win for everybody . Maybe now Indiana will see the light too . Congratulations ! EDIT...

The survey is bullet proof. No way the antis can shoot any holes in it. It is a professional job on the design and by Cornell U. on the data gathering. Numbers on all questions look great
63% of the Hunters and 59% of the Landowner base support full expansion into the archery season for deer, numbers for expansion on the full fall archery turkey season were as good (62% and 58%) Only 25% of the hunters and 24% of the Landowners said no expansion.
Lot's of other good numbers in the survey as well, but this paves the way to get what the sportsmen want, more oppurtunity.

Multi,
Will there be a press release?
What can you tell us about the survey. How were the questions worded and what were the options?
What was the process of this survey, how did they conduct it and how many folks took part. How were those folks chosen?

This is sounding really great. Any word yet Where it stands right now.......It was passed Thursday to go to full commission with FULL Expansion during archery season. It will be up for vote by the district commissioners in December. If it passes there it will go to the LRC for finalization and then will be complete. We still have a few hurdles to clear and the one in December being the biggest. The results of the survey are packing a lot weight . Hopefully we will have this behind us very soon and the sportsmen & women will have another choice of weapon throughout our archery season.

Thanks for the update JD..
Two years from now the folks will look back on this and say," What the heck were we arguing about anyway?".
Using crossbows in archery season in Georgia and Alabama are now NON-EVENTS.. it will be the same in Tennessee and Virginia and eventually KY and Indiana
