Turns out I am personally not a fan of a semi auto for me as a deer rifle, but I am in love with the Grendel cartridge.
I am reaching out through this forum since it is Indiana-wide to see if anyone knows of a gunshop that has a Ruger Predator in 6.5 Grendel in stock? If there are some out there I will contact them to see if they will take my Hardened Arms upper on trade. The upper shoots great, I just am not as enamored with the AR as a deer rifle as I thought that I would be.
Guess I am just a bolt action man at heart.
Thanks for keeping an eye out everyone! If you happen to spy one, please post up where it is located.

Thanks jjas. For that price I would be better off selling the upper outright and ordering the Predator to be delivered to my FFL. I can order one for $419 and my FFL charges $10.
Keep the info coming guys, you might find one that is in the $430 ballpark.

So I have one coming now.
Would anyone here have one that they have any experience with the bolt and feeding from the AR-type mags???
Now I just need to divest myself of the AR upper. Turns out I enjoy shooting the 5.56 AR, but don't really care for the platform as a deer hunting rifle like I thought I would.
Thanks for any info on the Ruger Grendel function if you have any!!

Have received and had a chance to shoot the Grendel? Would like to hear about what you think of it. I am in process of breaking in a 6.5 creedmor at the moment, but always look for an excuse to add another piece of iron to my safe.

I am in process of breaking in a 6.5 creedmor at the moment, but always look for an excuse to add another piece of iron to my safe. Waiting on second attempt. First one arrived with the finished scraped off the barrel all the way to bare metal just forward of the receiver. Taking forever to get another one in. Bad part was the ffl never did open up the box and inspect it before I showed up to do the paperwork. I would have been a week ahead if they had checked it out.

Have received and had a chance to shoot the Grendel? Would like to hear about what you think of it. I am in process of breaking in a 6.5 creedmor at the moment, but always look for an excuse to add another piece of iron to my safe. So far shooting pretty good. Loaded up some handloads and it looks as if the 2395 fps node with the 129 ABLR is a promising one. Ended up finding that my Hornady dies are sizing too small letting the old RCBS Jr just cam over and creating excessive headspace. I got the dies adjusted properly and the additional room of once-fired brass dropped the velocity 30 fps and groups opened up to 1/2" @ 100 yards. That will do plenty well for hunting this year, but come Spring I will be working back up to 2395 fps to get back to a single ragged hole. At the same time I will also be playing with a Generation 1 stock and mag to get them to work with the Grendel. You have to be pretty authoritative with the bolt to strip a round from the AR mag and get it to feed smoothly. Try to go slow and quiet just doesn't work with the AR magazine setup of the Grendel Predator. It is very reliable as is, but there is no going easy on returning the bolt to battery. No issues on extracting and ejecting slow, just feeding the next one from the AR magazine. Overall it is a shooter and I would not hesitate to pick one up knowing that you will have to be a bit aggressive feeding it.
