I prefer the giant flaming hydrogen ball in the sky.....
I have a rechargeable handheld spotlight I got from Tractor Supply on clearance for $10 about 4 years ago. I lost the charger 3 years ago and the thing still lights up. It's a bit creepy. I did find the charger last week when I completely cleaned out the old truck looking for something else. Curiously, I bought the old truck 3 years ago.
I pack my rechargeable streamlight stinger I carried while on patrol. That thing is fabulous.
When I went limb linning this year I picked up the old style 6v spotlights that now have 10 LEDs in them. If I had been more prepared I would have taken the older ones I have in the barn and just bought batteries. They're bright green and much easier to find in the dark than the new black ones. But, for under $5 including batteries, the new ones were well worth the money. Plus they float.

I went with the Stanley Fat Max. Great reviews, fair price, good battery and, I tend to lose things in the dark so I'm hoping the bright yellow color helps me out when irresponsibly lay it down. It has a USB charging cable system. One for in the house and one for the vehicle. I also like the handy dandy kick stand it has on the top. It locks into multiple positions. It also comes with a red lens cover too so I'll probably actually get to try to get after some song dogs with it after dark. I made a lanyard for it out of camo and blaze orange Paracord that'll attach quickly to the carabiner I have also installed on it. I'll let ya all know how it works if and when I use it.

I once, on the advice of a friend, decided to buy a new" perfect " flashlight, which in his words is perfect to use. Yeah, yeah. I trusted him and it cost me a ton of nerves and effort. He just fell down and didn't want to work anymore. I was furious. When I got home, of course, I told him what I thought about his lantern. I started searching the Internet for information about a really good hunting lantern and came across one on www.amazon.com/Vont-Flashlight-Flashlights-Water-resistant-Accessories/dp/B089T8HDBV then he closed it. I have never regretted this discovery. Completely satisfied me in size, weight and design. Has anyone else used it?

Fortunately I havenβt had to track at night lately but in the past I use a led headlamp and a super bright handheld. Itβs amazing that using 2 light sources at once works so well

I have some insanely bright rechargeable headlamps I was shocked at, but when truly taking up a track it's usually handheld spotlights by Cyclops mainly, but I've also now got a 20v battery powered light that uses the same tool batteries as my drills and impact drivers and such. Thing puts off some serious LIGHT and will be used for trailing and staged nighttime trophy photos no doubt.

This may seem crazy but being colorblind there is no such thing as too much light cast. I actually use this LED light www.harttools.com/products/power-tools/lighting/20v-led-work-light from Hart as I have numerous of their batteries for this 20v system. Thing is insanely bright and many would say unnecessary but thing helped this colorblind guy track a few deer last season.

It also makes a great light for nighttime trophy photos as it has multiple brightness settings.

Modern flashlights are pretty nice, but back in the day it was hard to beat a good old Coleman lantern. Fore some reason that lantern seems to make blood easier to see?

About 1/3 of the globe wrapped in tin foil to help protect my eyes and cast light out a little further. The eye protection was the main purpose though
