Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World – Baltimore
Injured Marine Returns to Work and to the Great Outdoors
by Allan Ellis, Promotions Manager
(Oct. 10, 2005 - Hanover, MD)... Sean Locker is back to work as an Archery Department Associate at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Baltimore, after his tour as a Marine in Iraq was cut short by the blast of a suicide car bomber.
Sean volunteered to serve our nation as a Marine. This past March, his 2nd Marine Division RCT8 was deployed. Sean’s life changed forever in July when his vehicle was attacked near Baghdad. His truck was the fourth of four in a convoy and it was the truck that the gray Opel sedan attacked. It detonated just before impact into a shrapnel-spewing fireball. Sean sacrificed an eye and an arm defending our freedom.
He was fitted with his prosthetic arm a couple of weeks ago and was able to become comfortable with it. Unbeknownst to him, the Management team at Bass Pro was already working behind the scenes to ensure that his passion for hunting would be rekindled when he was healthy. They contacted Dave Robb, the Director of Marketing at Tenpoint Crossbow Technologies in Suffield, Ohio and requested a crossbow. Dave and Tenpoint responded without hesitation and provided a new Model QX-4 with all the ‘bells and whistles’.
Sean was presented with his new Tenpoint Crossbow on Sunday, October 9, 2005.
Sean’s comment, “I’m excited. I always recommend Tenpoint and am glad to have received this generous gift.”
Sean is looking forward to becoming proficient with his new Tenpoint and will be participating in a hunt for Maryland’s elusive sika deer with some of his buddies from Walter Reed Army Hospital in December.
The Management and Associates at Tenpoint Crossbows and at Bass Pro Shops hope that Sean will return with enthusiasm and confidence to hunting and to the outdoors that he loves so much.
