I really don’t haul much. A few hundred pounds. And I like 20+ mpg on 87 octane.

I put no hunting/no trespassing signs up around a new 23 acre parcel. It will take a fair amount of work over the next few years, but it's high ground and a funnel area between a 160+ acre field and a large 200+ acre forest.

Floor on, first rail up. It will get easier now. It a little catty whampus, but the deer won’t care. What did you use to get them in the holes and upright? How deep did you dig the holes and with what? That's a project all in itself!!

Used a bobcat with a post hole digger to drill holes, they were almost 4 ft deep. Then the same bobcat with a grapple bucket to lift and set poles. We still had to move the bases by hand a bit, but obviously the bobcat did the hard part.

FINALLY got a decent rain here in Switz. Co., little over 1/4" last night. (1st measurable rain in over 2 weeks.) Looks like a real good chance again on Thursday also.

Well it's July and none of my family has made any preparations. I'm still waiting on a job... So I haven't even bought the bullets for squirrel season yet.... We need to go out and clean and move one of our tree stands. The tree it's in now is a squirrel favorite as evidenced by all the walnut shells that end up in the seat in a thick layer.

Didn't get the rain I was hoping for but have gotten .03" in last 24 hours. A lot of neighboring counties have received an inch or more. Still rain chances tonight and tomorrow, keep it coming.

[/quote Fur prices are nonexistant so not many people are trapping or hunting any furbearer much. I use to do alot od trapping but i have not done any in the last few yrs. I need to just do some predator control but just dont make the time for it.

I have done more trapping around the neighbors chicken coop and around my barn in the past 5 years than I have done in the previous 20 years.

When my wife feeds her outside kitties at night, she stands out there to keep the coons at bay so the kitties get their fill first. When I got home from work last night, there were 7 coons waiting! I told her they were past due on going bye bye.

I started nuisance trapping our farm several years ago to thin down the coons, opossums, skunks and coyotes. Too bad all the hawks and owls are protected as there are way too many of them too.

Made it to the property last weekend. Finished the landing and stairs on the second blind. Glued acoustical tiles in both blinds to quiet and echoing that may happen(200 of them. Found the deer had annihilated my corn planting so that didn’t go well. So I sprayed the area to kill off everything where the corn was and am going to plan b. Screen the west end of the plot in early August. Plant a mixture of brassicas with extra radishes in the mix, peas, and top it out with rye. Will have to entertain installing an electrical fence in the future for grains it looks like. Will start moving a few stands soon and installing a few new ones as well.

I have a neighbor that is about 1/3 mile away that loves 'coons. So much that he has the nuisance trappers (critter control,, etc.) drop them off at his place.
