My favorite hunting strategy the past few years has been light weight hang and hunt set ups. I move a lot, and often travel a long distance in doing so, it's worked out well so far. So I took the plunge into the next lightweight option, a 3# platform. I think I'll ultimately end up getting into saddle hunting after this.

Easy to carry, but I'm not sure how well I could nap in that thing? No cupholders either?

Shown actual size? Just kidding. I'd like to try something like that as well. Just have the climber now and it's heavy and not to versatile.

Platform is 11.75" x 11.75". Where does your other foot go? I have small feet. I may hate the idea but guys last year were looking everywhere for these platforms in December so I can always get my money back.

If I were up a tree in that thing, after 5 minutes I'd be kicking myself for not packing in the extra 10# for a full sized stand with a seat. Seems like it would be hard to turn around on that thing without stepping off it

I’d rather carry three pound of seat cushion and sit on ground.

A lot of guys moving to saddles. I’m gonna bet you end up with one soon as well. Lightweight and versatile way to hunt for sure.

I hunted out of a saddle last year and really liked it. I plan to use it pretty much exclusively if I'm hunting off the ground this year.

Just buy a Lone Wolf alpha hand climber, pricey but worth it. I hunted everywhere out of one still have it and use it, they have replacement parts I am going on like 18 years. Weighs like 14 lb

Problem with a climber, especially going into an area for the first time, is you spend too much time hunting for a tree, whereas with a saddle or stand and sticks you just hang and hunt.

Part of my reasoning for this route is that I dont really have to look for a tree. I bow hunt 95% of the time. No more finding that perfect tree 10 yards out of range and hoping to get lucky. I can pretty much hunt any tree, I can hunt smaller than normal trees.
One of the places I hunt, just getting a few feet off the ground is the difference of seeing 20 yards vs 100 yards, a lot of times a full size stand just isnt practical for that. Average stand height at that property, (if you even find a suitable tree), is 8 feet. It's annoying, but for some reason I love hunting there.

Any pics or videos on using this type of setup? Size 14 boots may be hard to place on that platform.

I don’t think you’ll see me in one I’ll pack the weight for a bigger stand and seat. Your spot on about looking for a good tree to climb and that can be about as loud as you can can in the dark, I have little to no fear on heights but for some reason those hang on type stands scare me to death

Platform is 11.75" x 11.75". Where does your other foot go? Way to small for my liking my cold weather boots would be hanging over that
