I have several projects done and several to do. So far have hinge cut 1/2 acre or so in thick bedding cover. Planted 35 conifer trees in bedding areas for thermal cover and am getting ready to plant couple of 1 acre fields to a switch grass mix for deer, turkey and small game habitat and bedding. Also replanted a 1/2 acre food plot to imperial whitetail clover with some alfalfa mixed in and have 3 other clover and alfalfa plots to get in yet. This wet spring has slowed me down a bit but should have everything finished up next couple weeks. Deer hitting mineral and feeders hard last month or so. A wet spring and early green up usually equates to some good sized buck come this fall.

Been incredibly busy with real life work and have failed to do nearly as much as I'd like but have gotten some done
-Planted 3 more fruit trees, 6 arrowwoods, 3 red dosier dogwood, 3 grey dogwoods, winterberries, high bush cranberry, hazelnuts and protected all but the last few with fencing.
-Frost seeded clover plots and revamped a few old plots into clover plots
-Planted over 75 miscanthus clusters or rhizomes
-Trimmed wild pear and apple trees present
-Hinged some structure into a fallow field with the saplings that were present...left only a few oaks and a few wild pears (will be hinged in future probably) for the bedding area.
-Hinged an entire living hedge/fence along northern border due to trespassing issues.
-Need to get a LOT more done ASAP

Finally dried out enough so I could mow down all of my food plots. Need to spray weed killer now, but we got a pretty good shower yesterday, so might be a day or two.
I did all beans last year, going to put the plots all in a clover alfalfa mix shortly, then maybe do a few strips of turnips this fall.

I'm headed out now to move some things around in the woods. Mainly, I want to get my Redneck blind out of the hay field and placed on the hay wagon. The wagon is already in the woods and ready to go. I'll store the Ghillie material in a trash can until September. Hopefully this will keep the squirrels off of it for a while.

I would say you have your priorities correct.

If I can swing it (baby on way in September so pennies pinching more) but hoping to rent a mini excavator to dig a few ditch line/water troughs in a few spots, small water hole in clover plot and eradicate some bush honeysuckle for a BH bedding area I want to convert over to dogwoods, service berries, winter berry, willow bush types and not BH.
