As a Life member of the NRA and the North American Hunting Club, as well as a member of the NE Big Buck Club, NWTF, and so on, I was ready to become a member of your organization. However, I do not agree with the "fight" to ban crossbows. I myself would never use one. I have for years and will continue to use my compound bow. However, with the ever growing fight from the anti-hunters, I personally feel anyone we can introduce to the sport of hunting to help fight the anti-hunters and indirectly the anti-gunners, the better. Any bowhunter knows that a 60lb compound bow shoots faster than a 175lb crossbow, in case you didn't know. Compounds are more accurate and easier to reload. If you're worried about "lazy" hunters, well we got them anyway in the rifle season and will always have them. The problem I have is all the "in-fighting" each and every organization promotes over whether we should or shouldn't have crossbows, scopes on muzzleloaders, etc. What we need to do is start to unite hunters and start including anyone who is considering joining us, instead of wasting time, money, and energy over fighting change. I can still tell hunting stories and admire a big buck with someone who killed it with a crossbow, even though I choose to hunt with a compound. There's an old saying that we hunters better start practicing "United we stand, divided we fall." My email is tspaulding28@hotmail.com
