I am new to crossbowing, and want to know your opinion of the tenpoint titan. Is it a good buy for the money and user friendly for the beginner. Also I am comtemplating buying the accudraw option that attaches to the stock as I have a rotator cuff problem that prevents me from using any regular archery equipment.

Also I am comtemplating buying the accudraw option that attaches to the stock as I have a rotator cuff problem that prevents me from using any regular archery equipment. The TenPoint Titan is an excellent entry level crossbow. The two crossbow manufacturers I like best are: Recurve crossbow - Excalibur Compound crossbow - TenPoint Both are excellent in quality from the top of the line to the bottom. You can not go wrong with either one. An entry level bow in the Excalbur line would be the Vixen. The TenpoInt has two cocking devices - The Acudraw (crank style) and the Acudraw50 (pull rope). Both stay mounted on the stock of the bow. The Excalbur has also has a crank style and a pull rope. They are not mounted on the bow. Good luck and let us know is you need any other questions answered. There are a bunch of crossbow experts that visit here and they can help you bunch.

Schoolmaster,
The Titan is a good bow. You may want to look at the acudraw 50 for your bow. I don't know hw bad your shoulder is, but the 50 cuts the draw weight in half. It lets you use more legs and chest then back and arms. I will have it on my bow this fall. Do you have a shop that carries the acudraw 50 so you could try it? It only costs about $80 instead of the acudraws $200. Check it out. And like Woody said, ask away. Somebody here will know the answer that can help. Kansas

Schoolmaster:In my opinion, the acudraw would be the device for someone with shoulder problems or any problem keeping them from drawing consistantly. You may get away with a rope draw helper for on hunt where you will only need to draw once or twice. But what about when you want to practice and have to draw many times. A crank-a-roo style device will ensure you many outings to the practice range pain free, and even the day before a hunt and still feel fine. Pain is not part of the hunting game. Fun is the one!

Schoolmaster-It sounds as though the accudraw is perfect for you. Not only will it prevent you from aggravating that rotator cuff, but also will allow precise cocking. John is right, pain is not part of the hunting game!

Yep, you are on the right track. That bow is so far advanced from when I started hunting with a CB back in 81 with a barnett. Is the Titian 150 pound or 175 ? either one is plenty fast enough. Just take your time and wait for your shot. Good double lung shot gets a pass through 99.9% of the time.
