All right, you asked for it and now you've got it.
At the All Deer Shoot on Aug 28, 2005 Old Hickory Lake Bowmen Club will introduce the Rangefinder Division and the Crossbow Competition Classes. Here are the Rules for each.
The basic rules followed at OHLBC are the ASA Rules of Competition. These attachments outline our additional regulations for the new classes.
If you have questions email or PM me or post them on here and I'll answer them for you.
We're excited about this and think that it's time to bring these competitive classes into the mainstream of 3-D archery competition.

Everyone's welcome. It'll be a lot of fun. Hunting style shoot with lots of good target sets. Come on out and have fun.
Plus, we have partnered with Boy Scout Troop 342 (they specialize in B-B-Q) and they will be running the food concession now. All proceeds go to their Troop. We will be allowing them to use of our property for their scouting activities and helping them learn archery. Talk about win-win...
So come on out and join in the fun and make some new friends.
OHLBC Crossbow Class
Addendum to the ASA Rules of Competition
Except as noted below, all ASA Rules of Competition apply to the Crossbow Class
Equipment
1.Equipment must be in sound mechanical condition, and all crossbows shall have a working safety. All arrows carried on the course by the shooter shall conform to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the crossbow
2. Arrows shall be equipped with field type points only
3. Aftermarket accessories are acceptable if they do not compromise the safety and function of the crossbow, and are legal for hunting.
4.Sights may be either the standard sight for the make and model crossbow, or any accessory sight (including optical sights) the crossbow was designed to accept, or that easily fits any sight mounting rail or base provided on the crossbow without modification.
Safety and General Rules
1.No crossbow shall be cocked before the shooter is at the firing line and preparing to shoot. It should be kept pointed downrange, at the ground or target, when cocked and loaded, and the safety shall be kept in the "ON" or "SAFE" position until ready to fire.
2.It is the shooter’s responsibility to carefully check his or her equipment before starting to shoot the course. Any potential problems should be corrected before shooting!
3.If an equipment problem develops while on the course, the problem shall be corrected under the equipment breakdown rules of the ASA Rules of Competition.
4.Slower groups will not hold up faster groups. Let faster group “shoot through” and if you catch up to a slower group, either go around them or ask to “shoot through”.
5.There is no mandatory separation of bow types in shooting groups. Crossbows, compound bows and traditional bows may be intermingled in the shooting groups.
6.For “Open” Club Tournaments there is no “speed cap” nor peak draw weight restrictions on crossbows
Target Distances and Scoring
1.The Crossbow class will shoot from the Red stake, with the Hunter and Super Senior Classes, which has a maximum distance of 40 yards.
2. ASA Scoring Rules apply.
