I will be here shortly. Plan was to start this weekend, but vehicle trouble took top priority... I will be after it between the holidays. I don't like leaving the stuff out all year... It's a hassle to move it all and most will go right back up in the same spots but I prefer to inspect on the ground and be able to replace straps and the like while not 15 feet in the air. I will be pulling 3 ladders, 4 hang-on sets....and 2 little buddy heaters form shooting houses (the mice will actually eat the wires inside).

Don't have anything to tear down. This is the second year since I have abandoned tree stands after 35 years of hunting and just hunted on the ground with a tree seat. I kinda like it.

No I'll wait until season is over. I don't take them down unless I plan on moving them. I just loosen all the straps. I keep a seat cushion strapped to my pack so I have no seats to bring in. Box blinds will be cleaned during the spring while on my turkey hunting vacation. Cameras will be moved to feeding areas.

You know with all the time I put in the woods. I have only seen 3 ever. They were all in Jefferson Co. 1 this year and my first one 2 years ago. The hunting club I am in, in Alabama I see them all the time. You can shoot them anytime down there just have not been able to get it pulled together yet.

I took the two stand I had up on public down Sunday. I got out there a little later than I wanted so I didn't get any hunting in after I got them down but there were deer within 100 yards of both stands when I approached. While I didn't kill anything out of either of them this year it good to know they were around.

I never take any down. Loosen strap. Then replace with new the next year. Once I'm in stand I tighten old one back up or cut it off.

Monday at least 1 will be coming down, if not 2 or 3. Just to refurbish/replace hardware/repaint.

I take down every other year to inspect and repair. I will then move stand to new locations. Always re-adjusting to the deer and land changes.

Most stands I leave out. I do go out and loosen all straps to allow growth of trees in spring. I actually do alot of scouting over winter months and hang a few sets over winter. Look mostly for natural funnels and large tree rub lines along them.

I wouldn’t hunt any stands that were left out all year. Buddy fell from a stand that was checked as described by several above before hunting season. Then the cable snapped.

I have 10 Summit climbers out I will bring in. 2 portable shooting house I will unscrew and bring in. All my Loc ons i took down years ago and replaced cables with chains and all new bolts and nut. I use 2 inch rachet strap during deer season. I will take those in for winter and just put a cheap one on to hold stand there till next season
