duff We didn't shoot worth a crap and the birds were a little decoy shy. They were landing in 3 or 4 different places in the unit and the ones that did work would land just out of range. Ended up with 3 birds. I think opening day was the busiest it has ever been at Goose Pond. All 10 reserve picks showed plus 77 standby parties.

Are they holding a lot of birds down there? There were never that many birds here to start the season then these short freezing spells chased what few that were here out of here.

The overall count before season showed like 14k waterfowl. 5k mallards and gadwalls each. Hence the 87 parties opening morning

Not a waterfowl hunter. I had prob 200 geese in my field last night eating. I have beens I have the farmer leave for food plot and winter wheat I planted. Then right before dark they leave and fly back to the refuge about a mile from my house.

If you want I have extra blind and the equipement needed but sounds like just tucking into a bit of cover is all you need.

Not a goose hunter that dark nasty meat. You dont need any of that stuff. I took 3 guys back there a few times last year in jeans and jacket. We snuck up behind some brush I told them have at it boys and they opened up on them.

But having a loud group of birds run right into your kill hole is better than any turkey hunt I have ever experienced and with geese you don't stop at 1 successful hunt either.

Now dont be picking on my turkey season. I might love that more than deer hunting anymore. That is why I joined a club in Alabama so I can kill 5 down there.
You guys use TSS for you goose loads and duck loads?
