I almost Robin Hood my first arrow today. I was shooting at 40 yards. The arrow hit the nock collar, chipping it, before ripping through the vane. So close! Not that I want Robin Hood all my arrows but, just one time would be nice! Lol!

I only have had one out of thousands of shots. It splintered the shaft of the receiving arrow. $15 burned up. Like Medic said. Three seconds of enjoyment. Looks like it is time for a fletching tool for you or hooking up with a friend that has one. LOL!

Yep - great way to ruin a good arrow. I have done it once. I have cut off fletchings and busted knocks and the like, but only once have I driven the actual point into the actual ID of a previously shot arrow and stuck them together. Carbon arrows are tough.....but not indestructible. Shooting a carbon arrow into a concrete wall (from shooting in the basement) is really hard on them as well.....
I hate shooting broadheads (I shoot fixed blade) because of cutting off fletchings......I try to shoot only one at a time to prevent it or rotate aiming points on the target.

Now this is strange. Just went out and shot 40 arrows. I shoot groups of five. Second group, I broke the nock of a prior shot arrow and sheared a vane off the shaft. Twilight zone........ It is your fault Brandon. Power of suggestion or something like that

Once with a compound with a broadhead at 40 yards..
Once with a crossbow at 25 yards
I very seldom shoot at the same spot..

First (and only) one I did was in 2009 with a brand new PSE Stinger and Cabela's Stalker Extreme shafts that I cut and fletched myself. I went on to bust a few nocks and then quit shooting at the same spots!!!!

I'm an Instinctive Bow Man I shoot Bow like (Ishi) did, 1 finger over & 2 fingers under the Arrow Shaft. I prefer a horse leather glove, a tab works fine also. Waay back in early years I would shoot Bow from twilight of Morning to Sun Down. Spent years working on my Craft. I still carry those skills and those of building strings building Arrows, Cresting Arrows Dipping Arrows, building and working on Bows. I think I may have an Archery Shop In A Box. I can shoot Bow blindfolded even today. Good 'Ole Fun times punching straw bales. Then throughout my early Bowhunting years I starting studying Lure Making and building My Own tried & true Buck Lures, Doe Lures and Cover Scents for Bowhunting Whitetail Deer and those are the Lures I used while spending countless hours on Stand (Tree Stand hunting), took years, I still carry them skills as well .
Thanks genesis273 in time you may just have your share of Robin Hood Arrow Shafts to cherish, Good Luck!

And then this can happen if you are shooting at white clover heads in the dry ditch in the back yard. Patio to the ditch is exactly 30 yards.

I am starting to think that the earlier comments about not aiming at the same spot may have some validity. I need to try that.....

I am starting to think that the earlier comments about not aiming at the same spot may have some validity. I need to try that..... I was shooting at my Glendale buck so I was aiming at the same kill spit each time. However, I do have a Block target with multiple spots on each side that I'll be using now. Especially at 29&30 yards. I gotta say, there's something memorizing about watching a nicely tuned arrow spin it's way to a target without a bit of kick to it. Not that I could see anyhow. I really love shooting my new bow set up. The pro shop owner told me my arrows are actually under spined. I'm shooting 250's but according to the Carbon Express chart, I should be shooting 350's. Right now I can't seem to find an issue but, maybe when I switch to the broad heads I will.

Congratulations that you like your new bow set up and are shooting it accurately. I know that is a great feeling My thinking is to build a couple of 350's just for the sake of comparison. October is getting closer.
