Hi all. First time hunter here trying to get a handle on my gear before the first time out. For boots, what would you suggest and why? First off “regular” boots vs the high rubber waders and then brands and everything else secondarily. I’m planning to hunt public lands for whitetail and turkey. Thanks!

Something completely waterproof like Muck boots. Have buddy's that like alpha burleys. Rubber and synthetic boots stink. Search our past discussions to deodorize them for deer hunting....actually all boots stink!

I'm partial to LaCrosse Alpha Burleys
I wear them anytime I'm in the woods...

Personal preference. The rubber boots is a Midwest thing. If its really wet out ill wear mine, which are bogs. Ive mostly moved away from them though.
In the early season I wear Danner Vitals, late season I wear Rocky boots.

Cordura outer, gortex lined with about 200-400 thinsulate insulation.
They should fit a bit snug now but the more you wear them the more they will stretch making room for a bigger sock.

I prefer Keen boots. I bought a pair of winter boots for late season hunting. I tried a pair of muck boots but I have tree trunk legs and they were too tight on my calf muscles.
