Deer had all of my soybeans eaten before winter got very hard last year, so I put all of my annual food plots (approx. 7 acres) in soybeans this year. Will probably add a few small turnip plots later too.
About halfway thru the last plot, I ran out of seed so I've ordered some of those real World forage beans that you read a lot about. Will finish that plot with these when they arrive for a side by side comparison of Real world -vs- standard AG beans.

Curious how the forage beans go for you . I tried 3 acres worth & they smoked it before they were mature enough. I plan on doing sunflower & a bean mix to go with my large clover plot till it’s time for radish & turnips to go in . Playing in the dirt is a lot of fun . I have been eyeing some chestnut trees to go along with my persimmon trees kinda on the fence .

I do it the easy way got it worked out with the farmer that farms my ground he leaves me beans or corn standing and I take some cash off the cash rent. Iceman, I ordered several Chestnuts from Stark Bro. They had them for 8.99 if you ordered over so many. I also planted 20 from seed that did well. I amd going to order Chestnuts from the TN tree program nest year. I is fun to get out there and play

No biggy. I go the easy way with Persimmons and order them from the state DNR 100 trees for 34 bucks I believe. I am ordering chestnut trees from TN next year they are Hybrid Chestnuts. I had Chinese nuts that I planted this year.

Planted a bag of beans on 1 acre. Don't think they will make it to maturity, deer are cutting them off. My plan is to plant turnips and radishes late summer.
