I would be interested in trying to do some bird hunting (pheasants, quail, etc). I have no dogs, no land, no experience. Is there anywhere in the South Eastern area where this would be achievable?

I dont know of any specific but look up put and take farms. You can usually find one fairly close. There you pay for birds and get to hire a guy with a bird dog.
Pheasant quail and chuckar are the birds.

Yep; it's not like it was 40-50 years ago.

Don’t let those pen raised birds fool you . Shoot at a bird and miss and see how quickly they learn to stay alive. A few years ago me and my hunting partner did a pen raised shoot . We had a guide and that last Chukar became a hunt . It took an hour to finally bring it down. That bird ran about 80 acres of cover . I actually felt bad about shooting that last bird , because of its will to wanting to live .
