If I knew how to upload video's I would, however when I try to share the video with some friends the clarity goes right down the toilet.
But yes it was absolutely incredible to watch. We were around 150 yards from it when it went off and it felt like someone had punched you in the chest. In the one photo where you see the crater, in the back ground is our little cabin. My sister was sitting on the deck with my father-in-law and they said they could feel the concussion on the deck.
If you haven't had the opportunity to do something like that I highly recommend it, however please use common sense whenever you are handling such a large quantity. Like making sure nothing is between you and the tannerite as to avoid an errant missile.

I would not have wanted to be a beaver inside that lodge.

Do you think you got all the beavers out now? LOL I bet you run their bells good. Just make sure that the ATF doesn't come knocking on the door. They get upset with people who use explosives. But since this was your own property I doubt they will care.
Did you buy the tannerite in that big plastic pail or buy it seperately and put it all together.
You can make explosives out of Ammonium Nitrate and fuel oil too. But I would be very careful doing that as you don't know how powerful it will be.
Some of my fishing holes are on State Property and there are some beaver huts on these lakes. Patoka Lake has a few beaver lodoged along the banks and you can see where the beavers have been cutting down trees in the area.
What kind of fuse did you use to set it off where you could get away from the blast. A long fuse or some type of electronic detonation device? I'd go with the latter to make sure that I could get far away before it went BOOM. Those logs and sticks can fly a long ways and could be dangerous if they hit you with any speed.

Its tannerite...you shoot it to detonate it. You can buy it just about anywhere.

Looks like a big boom!
I guess for a beaver that's as humane a way to go as any.

Yep, and while there IS some that you can set off with a .22 LR, the majority of it has to be hit at over 2,000 fps to set it off. The neighbor across the street and down a ways shot some a few years ago. The house here is on a crawlspace, and I felt the living room floor lift up before I heard the boom. I called that guys next door neighbor to see if they still had windows in their house. I have no idea how many pounds that was, but it was the biggest boom I've heard in a long, long while.

I love it. Just be careful and don't blow the windows out of your house or the neighbors. But the beavers need to go.

Sorry for the delay getting back, took some time off of work. We bought it all in a single jug from rural king. Cost around $92 after tax and all. We set it off with my brother in law's AR 15. We sure had fun doing it and we are talking about making it an annual thing. Maybe want to expand the lake a little, dig a hole next to the shore line and then let another one off.
