Took the Terrain out on the course for a handful of targets yesterday. Even shooting offhand I was really impressed with how well it did. Now having said that I never shot any closer than green stake and a few times went behind the blue stake because man pulling those things even at over 40 yards from the animals was really a pain; didn't realize that was going to be an issue. Thinking I'm definitely going to want to use lube. Much more difficult than a compound for pulling; any thoughts on why?

even arrows shot from a compound that have the same fps? IIRC they make a field point that is slightly larger in diameter than the arrow shaft. Maybe that will help?

Get an easy pull crossbow target. I think crossbow bolts are quite a bit heavier than compound arrows. They pack a lot more punch when they hit a target.

If you are shooting field points, use a bag target. When shooting foam type or closed cell, a broadhead cuts slits to relieve pressure on the release of the arrow. They make arrow pullers that grip the shaft to pull out.

Again talking about shooting a 3D course, not at the house. I have a puller from my compound days so yeah that definitely would help. I was still surprised how they were harder to pull than the compound. I suppose they are a bit heavier than the compound arrows going at a similar speed

Sounds like the lube is gonna be your best bet then. A guy I worked with that shot 3D said Scorpion Venom was the one they used.
