I may have shot my last one in 2017. I hurt my arm pulling targets at the September shoot last fall. It would get sore doing much with it and as time has gone on it's now a bit sore constantly now. (Or maybe I've just been using it more over the winter working on the B&B) anyways I have been shooting just a bit in the basement over the winter (I can get about 20 feet) and today I put the deer back out and took the 40# recurve out. At 15 yards I completely missed at least a third of the time, and maybe hit an 8 or 10 4 times out of 20. By about 20 arrows it hurt so bad I had to quit. It's not nearly bad enough to make me even think about looking into surgery but I don't think vertical bows are going to work for me. Glad I picked up that crossbow when I did. I know Woody had to give them up, I figure it happens to all of us at some point, never thought it would be this soon for me; didn't quite make it 60.

I was 62 when I had to stop shooting a vertical bow. My shoulder was shot. Too much shooting with too heavy of a pull.
Yeah, I missed the 3D shoots but I didn’t skip a beat deer hunting.. I’m still hunting pretty well out of the same trees and stands killing deer at the same distances with a sharp pointy stick.. 😉
I love it...
