Yesterday afternoon while on my way to pickup my wife from her place of employment I saw a female Bobwhite quail sitting on the snow about 30 feet off the roadway. When I returned about 30 mins later it was still there, I hope it survives with all this deep snow we have.
This is the first quail I have seen in these parts for I don't know how long.

Very nice. Not many around here either, but I occasionally see a few in Parke County.

I know where there are a few covey's. Keep it pretty much to myself though. Don't kill them myself. Too many guys wipe out the whole covey if they knew.

Leave 'em alone for awhile and maybe they can spread. Jumped two more covey's yesterday. I'd say one had 12-15 and the other had north of 20. Always love when the beagles get on them. They must give off alot of scent because they act like their nose is overloaded.
