We will be. Boat ready (we hope), decoys loaded and ready to head south in morning. It's a long wait till next October.

is going to be good and warm and rainy come Monday next week. Ducks fly low when it's raining. And they move around a lot more to feed when it's raining don't them?

Sometime, it helps if there's a crashing barometer, however come Monday it won't matter what kind of day it is because DUCK SEASON will end tomorrow at 5:54 pm.

Well today was a big flop. First time all year we blanked. Up and headed for the south zone at 4. Unload boat and motored to our spot. Set out a 20 foot boat worth of decoys. Goose and duck. And the set up looked great. BUT it just never happened. So with today my duck season comes to a end. Definitely not my best season or even close to it. But I did scratch out 68 ducks for the year. And my new pup did retrieve 40 of them. So it wasn't a total loss. Had fun with friends and family and enjoyed the new pup. He's coming along well. So now it's a month of strictly sky carp.

Horn, I don't have to tell you this you already know just spending the day with friends and your dog makes it all worth the while. I stopped counting the kills along time ago.

Horn, I don't have to tell you this you already know just spending the day with friends and your dog makes it all worth the while. I stopped counting the kills along time ago. I agree 100 percent. I use to count all my birds and compare seasons. Then I stopped that several years ago. Then this fall my son asked me. "How many birds you think old Mag has retrieved". Mag is my old dog. I told him I have no idea. Several hundred. So this year I decided to keep a career log on my new pup.
