Our friends at Indiana State University have created a survey for Indiana residents, to figure out where Thirteen-lined Ground Squirrels may be located. If you've spotted one, please take this short survey at: in13lgs.wixsite.com/13lgs. The survey will be open until January 1, 2018.

Things disappearing from our landscape is not silly It’s important to know why and why are the ones still here hanging on ....When a kid growing up they were thick everywhere around Pendleton ,the Railtracks were prime breeding grounds they lived in the rotted ties,,, I used to catch em and make Pets of them ,had a old tv made in a cage The Old man at Pendleton that took me under his wings used to take me to old cemetery’s and shoot them getting ready for squirrel season Grave yards were full of them Now there gone WHY not a silly question a indicator of a bigger problem Who knows maybe the study will tell We called them ,”Ground Hackies” !!
