Yesterday I had a nice little unexpected goose hunt and was surprised at the amount of ducks that were present, I had been hoping for a chance at a good second season opener...........now it appears NOT.
This morning I went out at sunrise just to watch and there was nothing but a small handful.
I believe these ducks are following the thaw line back heading back North.
Still a lot of geese in town with plenty of food and open water inside city limits.

It's ok. They'll get pushed back down with the upcoming cold snap

You are so right, I am hoping we can get 2-3 days of hunting in before it freezes again.

Got a call from a good friend who deer hunts nearby and he said that yesterday evening he watched a good number of ducks and geese hitting a area nearby so there is some hope for a decent shoot this morning.

Whereabouts Is this? I'm an air force guy home on leave and I'm trying to find a good place to get some ducks. I'm at the top of the central zone
