It'll be okay to learn with. I've got the camera on its way and also ordered a tripod, 64G SD cards and an aluminum SD card wallet. IF wanting fast rapid shots...I love this feature for birds and fighting or running deer at times. Class 10 cards is a must IMO. Just something to consider. For 95% of your point and shoot (especially if never run video) any class card will do the job...but fast pictures you will notice a big difference with class 10s.

I did a crash course on the differences in SD cards and made sure to buy class 10 cards.

IF you ever decide to throw the thing on video and fall in love with that get an external mic....tripod + external mic on video the thing will capture AMAZING footage. But I know stills are your target for now.

I love his stuff...but wish sometimes he would apply a filter or edit the colors of his pictures. Some like posted here better suit...but his posts and the way his edits portray the story does convey a sense of nostalgia which is partly what I love about his posts!

Have fun. I was into camera for several years. I liked landscape and family. I tried birds and figured my budget did not support that desire.
Macro shots were fun too. I liked the technical aspects of photography.
Sold my cannon dslr and extra gear a few months ago.

Nikon be fast at shipping .... camera showed up this morning. Of course it required signature of someone over 21 to accept the package so I dont actually have it yet but thats still pretty fast. Ordered yesterday.
Filters? Any guidance there? Seems a fella can spend $5 on a UV filter or $500 ......?

Mine was on the lowerside (wanna say $20-$30) and you will definitely notice having verses not having one without question.

Check out www.lensauthority.com you can get a used high-dollar filter that is in excellent shape for a fraction of the cost. I have bought lenses of their, too, and would use them again.
