I'm a little bit confused. But, that is nothing new. LOL
Morrison, when you replied to the first question, your reply was:
"Once the deer is checked in, it may be quartered in the field. The Indiana Administrative Code requires the use of a temporary transportation tag which you are required to record the confirmation number on. That portion of the code has not changed. According to the Indiana Administrative Code, just having the confirmation number on your phone does not meet the requirements of the regulation."
I know the e-regulations isn't the code, but here is what the e-regs say:
Tagging Requirements
Immediately upon killing a deer, the hunter must complete a temporary tag on paper that states the hunter’s name, address, sex of the deer, license number (if applicable) of the individual who took the deer, and the day and month of the kill. A hunter is not required to place the tag on the deer while dragging it out of the field as long as the hunter has filled out and is carrying the required information. A hunter must maintain immediate custody of and visual contact with the deer carcass unless the completed temporary transportation tag is attached. The tag must be attached to the deer before the hunter leaves the deer or loads the deer in a vehicle.
Once the deer is registered with the CheckIN Game system, a confirmation number will be generated. The number must be recorded on a temporary transportation tag and kept with the deer until processing begins.
So, reading that and reading your reply leads me to ask this question:
Once processing begins, after the deer has been checked in and a confirmation number generated, does the temporary transportation tag have to be kept with the deer parts? I'm thinking of the deer parts in my truck when transported from the processor to my freezer. Does transporting quarters that have been checked in fall into a different category? Or would they fall into the "until processing begins" category?
Do I have to keep the transportation tag with confirmation number with the parts of the deer after processing has begun?
