Hello waterfowl hunters! I will be going out tomorrow for a duck/goose hunt. Whatever flys in I suppose.. really looking forward to it. I really got into it last season but not until after duck season was already over. Hope more people on this site are getting out as well and good luck

I'll be going in Henry county. I don't really know how to tell yet if there is good sign or not. What tells you that?

Used to hunt up there a lot around summit and the state marsh on 36 when it first opened. Not sure if state is still oiling geese eggs on summit but it used to be fun

This will be the first time there this season so I'm not sure if the birds have been flying there or not

The storm we got yesterday moved a few birds around however I was not out there, I chose to sit the day out since I knew it would be a day of constantly getting in the boat and dusting the snow off the decoys, by late afternoon there were 40+ birds on the pond. If you have open water you will have birds.

I moved away from the area in 2006 and have not been back. We used to have good luck towards the back of the levy but if there were small ponds on the dry side of the levy...even better. The place was getting hammered the last few years I was there. My best luck was after it froze then thawed out. Good luck

We hunted back by the levy but 90% of the pond was frozen in the morning. Sat again in the afternoon and moved to the other side with about an acre of thawed water. Didn't see any birds the entire day except three geese on the way to lunch

Regards Billy.

Regards Billy. True...but if I am going to wake up early To tromp in a muddy field or sit in the cold I prefer birds to be in the area. Still no sure thing but if not around may as well be hunting bigfoot.

I agree but for you to know there is no birds in the area who have either been and looked or made enquiries. That was my point unless one goes to look one never knows.
Weather same as yesterday but I have dropped five does this morning, what's the difference to me none. To deer, who knows. Had I not gone and looked I would never of known.

Yeah I plan on going to Chinook on sunday. My friend went last night after work just to drive around and said they were everywhere. Talking myself into going out with my muzzle loader Friday and Saturday. I'm on the verge of giving up deer for the season but can't do it quite yet
