Hi everyone. Just joined the forum. I will be moving to Dearborn County, IN later this week from Cincinnati, OH. Looking forward to hunting a new state and getting out in the woods here.

So as I said above I just moved here. Never hunted Indiana because of the cost for out of state and my limited hunting time didn't make it feasible.
As 20177-2018 winds down I still have a few weeks to hunt in Ohio, but I am starting to look for land to hunt for the next year. Typically around the Dearborn County area. Any tips to procuring land to hunt? Or just knocking on doors?
Also looking for turkey hunting spots. Would I be better off asking about those? Are there more deer hunters in the area than turkey?
I am trying to get an understanding of the rules and such. I've applied for the Hunters helping Farmers, but there is reserved hunts. These are just lottery hunts correct? Couldn't find much information on the DNR website about them. I assume there is more in the rules and regs but haven't found my copy to look yet.
Is there any benefit to joining one of the conservation clubs in the area?

Knock on doors unless your going to lease ground
The state does run reserved hunts and yes it is lottery
cant help you with clubs
