A giant Typical was killed by a local high school student in Switzerland County this week. Brody Splain. Basic 6x6 with a G-2 split. Hunters dad is a taxidermist and buck is said to of green scored 212" gross and nets around the 200" mark. I sent Woody pics and I believe Dale Sides has pic's. It's pic's are floating around hunting sites today. Will keep a look out for it's official score.

I believe he graduated last school year. Anyway, it's a giant buck that will score really high.

Doesn't an official score require some sort of drying period?

Doesn't an official score require some sort of drying period? Official measurements cannot be taken until antlers air dry at room temperature for 60 days. Any score calculated before the drying period is known as the “green score".

The hunters father is a reptuble taxidermist in county. So green score's should be close. Obviously the deer has some deductions but is one heck of a deer and no doubt a legitimate challenger to current typical record.

So...I think that both the biggest typical firearms kill and the biggest typical archery kill were both taken this year?
If the net scores I've heard for both hold up it'll put them in the top 10 of B&C and P&Y?

What a awesome deer. Congrats to that young man on a trophy. Who cares what it scores. People get way to caught up in inches and size. Already seen he was supposedly baiting already on a FB site. People just try to tear ya down and discredit others.

Yes. Assuming a 191 net typical will beat whatever the current Indiana archery record is.

Damn ... after looking at the Pope and Young site there are a lots of deer in that 190's range. The Indiana kill ive heard about wont be top 10 but itll be top 20 I think.

I feel sorry for any archer that had to pass this one up due to being tagged out.
