Was just wondering if anyone is getting into some woodcock yet? With the warm weather, figured they have not really made their flights down south yet. Would love for this thread to serve as H-I's spot to give reports. (sticky?) Also, as a reminder, check in your sightings with Ruffed Grouse Society at the following URL: www.ruffedgrousesociety.org/migration-map#.WeyzphNSwzZHappy hunting!

We have a resident population here, but I do not shoot them until after the first full moon in November. The immigrants come in on that moon, it is very obvious it goes from seeing one or two on the drive out at night, to seeing woodcock everywhere. Then I may stand and wait with either the 410 or 28 bore and shoot them flighting for a change. Regards Billy.

Moved one bird three times today at Atterbury. Gunner loved one area but not so much elsewhere. Don't think the flights are real thick yet but should be soon

Greetings They should be here on last full moon. I seen two tonight but not enough, I am not convinced they have arrived well I hope they have not arrived, or woodcock numbers are in trouble. Keeping my powder dry and gun uncocked for the time being. Regards Billy.

Greetings We have had a fall of Woodcock, this morning was miserable foggy and wet. On two occasions I had to stop the van and let Woodcock off the track. Poor little birds were, tired and only just got into the grass before bedding again. Must of had a rough flight over, it was certainly nasty last night. And terrible tonight again. Regards Billy

Our birds moved through real quick this year. I've only seen one so far and I've hunted my pup at least once every weekend since November 1. I think they either blew right through like you said or maybe there are some stragglers coming this weekend for last full moon--not that it'd help, most people aren't the biggest fans of us upland guys walking around with our dogs during deer firearms season--I steer clear of public stuff right now

I moved a woodcock Friday while quail hunting. That late flight bird was one of maybe ten or twelve woodcock I saw all Fall. Birds migrating down the Wabash river valley are typically plentiful in late October and November.. Not this year. I got skunked in great woodcock cover a couple of times along the Wabash in both Indiana and Illinois. Makes me wonder if they had a poor hatch up north.
