Sounds like good times to me. Time spent with family is priceless, especially in the outdoors.

Since the weekend was a bust I stayed home Monday as it rained hard all day long. I went out Tuesday not expecting much and ended up having a really good shoot and it repeated it self again on Wednesday, it appears this cooler weather and hunting pressure had moved some birds around.
I did a Steven Rinella Meat Eater with 2 geese I shot, I saved the gizzards, hearts and livers and made a small pot of soup.

It's for the lack of an official name "GOOSE GUT SOUP" that's what I call it. I saved the hearts, gizzards and livers from 2 Canada geese put them in a small 4 qt pot with a container of chicken broth, chopped celery, onion baby carrots along with a bay leaf salt and pepper and a cup of water then simmer for 2 1"2 hours till the gizzards are soft yet chewy.
Then put this soup in the refrigerator till the next day serve it over rice or noodles, great on a chilly afternoon.

Regular bread stuffing withe gizzards hearts and livers added to it. When she asks for those I always forget the livers for some reason!

My mom always made stuffing from scratch using the gizzards heart and livers from our turkey. She would boil them like I do then chop them up and add it to her dried bread crumbs and other ingredients. When she boiled them she would also boil the neck with the skin on,that neck was always my pre-Thanksgiving treat. The Kentucky Fried Chicken joints in Lafayette and Rensselaer serve chicken gizzards and livers on their buffett.
