Hi!
I've always been interesting in hunting, but never really had the resources to do so, nor anyone to do it with!
What should my first steps be? How do I find people to hunt with?
I'm a 22 year old woman living in Central Indiana. I was born and raised here. I'd like shoot game, preferably.
Thanks for reading.

As step 1 I would enroll in a hunter education class, they're offered online or in person by the DNR. You will learn a lot of basic info through it.

Usually its not as hard to find people to hunt with as it is places to hunt on. Definitely start with hunters ed as it's required that will answer a lot of basic hunting related questions.

You can find great people online and some of them will even invite you to hunt on their property, if you are really lucky.

Welcome young lady!
My daughter is 22. She got her first turkey in the spring, and I'm hoping she gets her first deer this year too.
It is a wonderful sport, and these guys are very knowledgeable. They will also answer any question you have no matter how stupid it is ....I've already asked most of them.

Another welcome here!! You should check with the DNR to look and see fi they are doing a Women in the Field (not sure of the actual name right now) program. They are informational and can be good for networking as well. Another good source would be looking for a local conservation club and checking with the DNR Officer for your area, here is a link to contact info www.in.gov/dnr/lawenfor/2755.htm

Hello! Welcome to the board! Great to hear that you are interested. To echo many of the other suggestions, I would take Hunters Ed first (you can take it online for free, only have to pay once you pass the test). What kind of hunting are you interested in? My girlfriend and I like to go shoot at Crooked Creek Conservation Club and Indiana Gun Club. I am 23 and my girlfriend is 22. We live in the Fishers/Noblesville area and would be happy to meet up at one of the ranges to shoot and chat one day. My girlfriend is actually just now starting to shoot as well
