I've been shooting trap as much as I can to prepare for the put and takes and I just signed up for 2 hunts this morning. I got a little ahead of myself being excited and I don't know much about the terrain I chose. I also don't have anyone to hunt with so I figured I'd post in here and hope find some advice or a group to tag along with. In hindsight I should have started here then signed up for the hunts but as I said, I got excited and didn't know how long there would be open spots.
Here are the hunts I signed up for:
J. E. Roush Lake Fish and Wildlife Area 20 B on November 18th
Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area D1 on November 23rd

I don't have any dogs at all, but I have all of those other things. I was hoping to find some people here with similar dates or who might be willing to go with me. I looked, but I didn't see any kind of organized group hunt or anything like what we have here for deer or squirrels. Is there a reason that we don't try and coordinate and go as a group?

Only the persons that are signed up for each area can hunt in that area, such as if you are in area 20 B only those persons assigned 20 b can hunt in area 20 B. You should get an area map of the properties you hunt so you know where you are at when your hunting. Only the persons assigned those areas will be allowed in those areas,no guests.

Yeah, I saw that but I didn't see a map available. It said the boundaries only applied until 2:00PM though. After that it said you could go anywhere on that property. But either way, I'm planning to get a map and then use the gps in my phone to make sure I stay in bounds.

So if I wanted to hunt with him I should try and do a reserve hunt where he's hunting.

MOSS: you would need to get that same date for that same property and for that same area in order to hunt with him. TolusD: if you don't have your 2 birds by 2:00 pm the odds are real good you won't get both of your birds that day. And yes you can go anywhere on the property however no guests only those who paid to hunt on that day.
nfalls116: These rules apply to 3 preserves that I am familiar with.

This follows the rules I've read so far. There are no guests allowed, you can book multiple spots in the hunts but they all cost money. I'm not sure how many spots are left but I'm not opposed to booking a couple more if it means we can get a group together to go out.
