I bought a ThermaCell "Back Packer" this year for sitting out on my deck. Money well spent. Instead of those little Butane cartridges I use a camp stove butane/propane tank. It lasted me ALL summer and still has some left.
I bought some pads from China real cheap on eBay. Same stuff, just a different name. A skeeter free summer cost me about $15...

I`m late to the party as usual, but, I love my Thermacells. I`ve used them turkey hunting and fishing at night from the shore, and they work. Their customer service is fantastic too. I had a camo Thermacell unit that quit working. I contacted them, sent it in to them, and they repaired it for free. If it hadn`t been repairable, they would have replaced it. I`ve been fishing at night with a lantern for light,looked up, and saw a cloud of mosquitoes above my head, but they couldn`t get to me. I`ve sat down in the turkey woods and gotten chewed up pretty good until the unit heated up and started dispensing the bug dope, then, just like that, they were gone. Great, great convenience to have for hunting and fishing. I hated putting on the DEET bug juice. Never again since I have the Thermacell.

Sweet. And if that works anywhere near as well as the little unit I`ve had experience with, it rocks. |
