I met up with Featherduster this week for a walleye trip to Erie. All I can say is it was a great trip in every way. Featherduster is a fantastic guy as were the other three that went with us. It was a perfect walleye day, overcast with a chop on the water. We limited out by 12:30 with 30 keepers. I would like to thank Featherduster again for a wonderful time. One thing that suprised me about Featherduster was his size, that man is big enough to hunt geese with a rake! I'm 6 ft tall and as you can see he makes me look like a runt. Featherduster with a nice one Two that I landed. Total catch The excellent fruit of our labors for super last night.

This was a great trip not just because I finally got to meet a member of this site but as Schall said it was the perfect day for fishing on Lake Erie. We caught and kept 30 fish and probably released another 12-15 small ones, we fished aboard the Eagle Eye out of Port Clinton, Ohio. In addition to the 5 pounds of walleye that we had a local restaurant prepare in several different ways we all also brought home about 5 pounds of fillets. ESSHUP: I would like to draw your attention to the photo of me holding a walleye by lipping it,"REAL MEN CAN LIP WALLEYES". Schall, you are a super great guy to share a fishing trip with and I sure hope we can do it again and often. BTW: our group saves the cheeks of the walleyes which are fabulous to eat so on every trip we cut cards to see who gets the cheeks and on this trip Schall's ace of spades trumped Larry's king of spades........beginners luck.....or was it

deadeer, I am sorry but last year I invited schall however he thought killing yet another turkey was more important, so this year with his freezer crammed full of turkeys he decided to fill an empty slot we had and so our group was humbled with his presence.
I was hoping enough guys on here would have joined us for an all Hunting Indiana trip however we were 3 shy of a full crew. You are on my list of candidates.

Featherduster, I see what you did there. LOL Next time no fingers under the gill plate! I'd be willing to bet I have Yellow Perch in my pond that are within an inch of the Lake Erie Walleye minimum size limit..... If Walleye and Yellow Perch are caught from the same water, do they taste similar? Honest question here, because I really don't know the answer.

esshup, my index finger is under the lower lip and my thumb is smack dab square in the middle of that lower lip. We bleed all our walleye so the meat is white and the true taste of the fish really comes out, as for perch there is nothing that taste better than Yellow Lake Perch sauteed in butter. Even though they come from the same water they have their own flavor.

Deadeer and his son were over yesterday fishing in the pond, and we caught and released some nice Yellow Perch. Next time I'll have the camera a ruler and a scale.
