50 agents does sound a little excessive.

Yeah but... the way people act about poachers it wasn't enough for most maybe a lynch mob would be more well suited

This is what happens when people are joining the military to make their resume look good for LE jobs when their 4 years are up. You get militarized police looking for an excuse to break out the long guns an body armor.

Your just hearing one side of the story , There's more I've run into this guy numerous times in our quest for regulations Have videos clearly showing Midwest caviar gutting fish after fish and the carcusus floating down the river This guy does more damage to our resource than the rest combined Good riddance

Gutting fish still doesnt justify a full in raid.

They were taking the eggs from undersized fish paddlefish are federally endangered in most states except good ole Indiana and Kentucky These guys are skum , look at their let's kill fish advertising meme !! They don't care about the resource just the almighty dollar ,,their destroying a resource , protected in Ohio , West Va and Pennsylvania a short distance away on the SAME River ..Go figure I heard Ron Brooks State and have the recording Kentuckys not worried about spoonbill management other than Commercial harvest because of this protection .They're raising them for us Then laughed at it

I still see nothing in your version of the the story that justifies federal agents with "assault rifles"

Let me.make sure and clarify that I am fine with legal action being taken against him. With the information presented I am not fine with feeral agents armed with assault rifles cause of some fish.

If the federal agents drove 5 hummers with top mounted turret guns onto his place that wouldn't bother me one bit because actions like this draw attention and that in turn draws the news media. As throbak said there is more to this story any I would be willing to bet it's based on facts not speculation.

Because sometimes bad guys shoot at police. I would rather have 50 agents than a few in a gun fight.
I would bet the other cf are going hmmmm. Maybe I shouldn't steal wildlife from the people of Indiana. I may lose my business, boat, truck, money and business.

Gutting fish still doesnt justify a full in raid. It does justify him going to jail though. I for one think it's a good thing that Poachers are arrested and serve jail time if convicted. I admit that 50 armed agents is excessive. But were there really 50 of them? That would take quite a few vehicles to carry all 50 of them and their gear. I have seen pictures on guys facebook page showing paddle fish that were shot with a bow and arrow and the poacher bragging about all the fish he got that night. These are kids but they too should be punished for doing that. Paddle fish are protected and you can't shoot all fish with a bow and arrow. I think that only rough fish are allowed to be taken by a bow and arrow these days. And it's not very smart to put pictures of illegal activity on your facebook profile page. We have fish and game laws for a reason. To protect the resource. We didn't do that in the past and a lot of species went extinct from over harvesting. Passenger Pigeon is one such species that comes to mind. And the American Buffalo almost went extinct but has made a comeback. I firmly believe in fish and game laws. People that don't understand the laws or just plain ignore the law are not our friends. They cheapen the sport and imperil the game that we all love to go after. They could easily ruin the fishery if left alone to ply their illegal activities. Gutting fish just for the eggs and throwing the fish back in the river is disgusting to me. If he did this as they said then I hope that the Feds throw the book at him and make an example of him so that it discourages other to do the same thing. Especially if he was doing it illegally and knew it was illegal and did it anyway. He should spend some time in jail IMHO. If everyone did this there would be no more paddle fish left for the next generation. And that's serious to me.

Anyone that is familiar with English and its' residents would not question the firepower brought by the authorities.
