I've said on other places when this has come up. There is no way I'd let today's Remington touch any of my firearms

It's too bad that the quality & safety of rifles made by Remington Arm has declined in recent years. I've own several Remington rifles over the years, and still have one: a Model 722 which I had the trigger replaced & re-bored, and chambered to .458 X 2" American. My first H.P. rifle was their Model 700 in .222 Remington, I purchased back in 1965, which gave me "zero" issues and was accurate.

I own several model 700's that are excellent rifles with no issues. Have always felt the 700 BDL to be a real good value for where they are priced, and I've not encountered any that don't shoot pretty accurately.
Send me your crummy model 700's and I will take all of those defective, dangerous weapon off your hands for $100.

I've got one 700 ADL for over 40 years, had a trigger jog done on it. Walker style down to just under 3 lbs. Have a newer BDL for about 10 years, sent the Walker trigger off, about the same pull. Hundreds of rounds through both. No problems, and don't expect to. Lucky? I do have a 700 in .223 that I had redone with a Jewel trigger. That thing goes off if my heart beats to hard.

I bought my first Remington model 700 just after the blizzard of 78. It was a BDL varmint special chambered in .22-250. I used that rifle to wipe out every groundhog on or near my Uncle's farm. It performed perfectly every time I used it. When coyotes became common around here, I soon realized that the heavy barreled Varmint Special wasn't the best choice as a predator rifle, so it was traded at Galyan's toward a new BDL sporter in .243 Winchester. Restocked with a CDL stock, it was nearly the perfect predator rifle, and never gave any issues. I've since picked up several more Model 700's. A stainless synthetic 700 SPS in .22-250, a stainless synthetic 700 Mountain rifle in .243 Winchester, and a 700 Classic in .223 Remington. The most accurate, but also the ugliest was a 700 SPS in .223 Remington. It was a true .5 MOA shooter directly from the box. It was so ugly though that I traded it for the Classic. The Classic turned out to be the only poor shooting model 700 I've ever owned. I've never had any problem of any sort with any of my Remington model 700 rifles.
