This is why I laugh when people say they think they see wolves in Indiana. If you really did, there would be no doubt.

Knew a guy in Minnesota had one stuffed in a glass case. Timber wolf. Those things are HUGE! He was close friend of family. Last name Shutte (sp) that fed the local bears by hand. Dead now. State turned his place into a bear sanctuary that gets tons of tourists now.

In 1981 my grandfather was in his last days.I remember being at his house and reading a newspaper(I think from Vevay) and it had a picture of a trapper with 2 grey wolfs he caught locally. If I remember correctly they measured over 10' nose to tail. Wade

They are really large animals, but their fur also makes them look a lot larger than they really are. I have acquaintances out west who have killed a few, and a 150 lb wolf is huge. I think that the vast majority of folks who claim to have killed 300 pounders are either exaggerating or overestimating.

That happens a lot!I remember growing up you would hear about that "40-pound coon". Well, I've caught 40-pound beaver and if I ever see a 40-pound coon I'm leaving the woods! One year I caught a huge coon. It only tipped the scales at 20 pounds! Wade

That happens a lot!I remember growing up you would hear about that "40-pound coon". Well, I've caught 40-pound beaver and if I ever see a 40-pound coon I'm leaving the woods! One year I caught a huge coon. It only tipped the scales at 20 pounds! Wade I didn't weigh it, but I caught a beaver right behind the ears in a 330. Never moved the trap it died so fast. I wear a 31" inseam pants, and its nose was on the ground when it's hind feet were at my belt. Prices were really down, and I can't remember what I got for it, bu tit wasn't much. But, that was the biggest beaver that I've ever trapped. My buddy and I were scouting a new area in Norhtern Wisconsin before deer season. We walked in on a logging tral that was bare dirt. Wnen we walked back out, there were wolf tracks over our footprints. It's an eerie feeling, knowing something that big is out there. Their prints were just as wide as my boot print and I don't have small feet.
